Traditionally Intel is associated with processors. In fact its such a dominant player that it actually runs the whole processor industry. And if its behavior is anything to go by then it intents to do the same in solid s tate storage industry. Reportedly, after introducing couple of solid state drives the firm is planning to introduce new large capacity drives at lower price-points. By the end of the year it'll unveil two new SSDs -- the enterprise-class X25-E family with 400GB storage and the mainstream X25-M with 600GB.
Both of them are based on multi-level cell (MLC) flash made using 34nm fabrication process.
