The latest in mattress technology

Mike Fort
Many of us have been sleeping on that same old spring mattress for years. What most people don't know is that mattress technology has really evolved over the last few years. Yes there are still spring mattresses and waterbeds. If your like me then you may think its time for a change. Lets take a look at the current generation of mattresses.

Memory Foam:

Memory foam is the most popular type of mattress on the market today. There is a good reason for this. Memory foam is probably the most comfortable style of mattress. It moulds and shapes to suit your body.

The mattresses come in different densities. Most people will want to go with a 4lb density. The idea is that the higher the density the more support you will receive. You need to keep in mind that if you do want a higher density then you will have pay more. If there is any downside to memory foam it is that its fairly expensive.

Latex Foam Mattress:

Latex is still fairly new, but gaining in popularity. The two main benefits of latex is that it lasts a long time and has something known as zones.

The zones create softer and harder parts on the mattress. What this really means is that the part your back lays on may be softer. Other parts of the mattress maybe harder. Its really something you have to try to full understand.

Waterbed Mattresses:

Waterbeds are still fairly popular. Waterbed mattresses have changed some over the years. The latest type is softside. These are not majorly different from the classic hardsided design.

Softsided waterbed mattresses are simply easier to clean and have the tub system on the side. Moving the tub to the side allows a little more room and makes it fairly easy to upgrade to one of these.

These are the major new advancements in mattress technology. I highly recommend you to check them out if you have been sleeping on the same old mattress for a long time.
