'Opticon1826' logo competition

UCL
The recently launched UCL student-led journal 'Opticon1826' is holding a competition to design its new logo.

Open to all UCL students, the competition is running until 31 January 2007.

Launched in May 2006 with support from the UCL Graduate School, 'Opticon 1826' is an initiative by UCL graduate students. The internally reviewed biannual journal provides a forum in which disciplines can cross paths and have an opportunity to engage with assumptions, perspectives and methodologies from outside their own field of study.

The logo must be able to adapt to online and hard copy use, and for use in various sizes and in monochrome. The winner will be informed by 30 March, 2007.

Editor-in-Chief Miss Gesche Ipsen (UCL Comparative Literature), said: "The logo should, naturally, in some way represent the journal, but need not therefore be abstract. This is an excellent opportunity for entrants to put their permanent mark on a newborn publication. We welcome submissions from individuals or groups, and anything ranging from a minimalist few lines to an intricate crest, or any new and leftfield formats are welcome. Surprise us!"
