International Congress in Madrid to analyse and clarify

Theallineed.com
The FIFA Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Football Players will be the centre of debate at an international congress hosted by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Friday, 26 October and Saturday, 27 October 2007, at the Ciudad del Fútbol, in Las Rozas, Madrid.

The FIFA transfer regulations have a major impact on the daily workings of world football. The Congress, which is organised by the RFEF with the support of FIFA and held with simultaneous translation in English, French and Spanish, aims to offer national associations, clubs, players' agents and other stakeholders an opportunity to analyse and clarify the content of the relevant provisions.

"Recent studies such as the Annual Review of the European football players' labour market show a greater professional mobility of the players in the five major European leagues. Against this background it is essential that all stakeholders of the game have a clear understanding of these regulations that govern a major aspect of our game", said RFEF President and FIFA Vice-President Angel Maria Villar Llona.

The opening speech of congress will be delivered by Mr. Slim Alouou, Chairman of the Dispute Resolution Chamber of FIFA. A conference panel made up of many well known experts on the subject, representing the FIFA, other national associations, European universities, and prestigious law firms specialising in sports law will contribute to the debates on current topics such as training compensation, the solidarity mechanism, and the termination of players' contracts in the international sphere, in others, thereby making this international seminar a unique opportunity for all those who are interested in world football.

Further information on the Congress as well as regarding registration and accommodation are available via the RFEF website at:
