With UN's help, Liberia graduates first set of correctional officers in over two decades
In another sign of growing stability in once war-torn Liberia, the United Nations today announced that it has finished training two dozen correctional officers there, the first to graduate in that field in over two decades.

UN announces second annual documentary film festival
14 February 2006 – Aiming to showcase how people around the world are addressing poverty, hunger, disease, civil unrest, trafficking and injustice as well as what the United Nations is doing to help, the world body has announced its second annual documentary film festival, to be held in New York in April.

MEPs aoutline plans to probe CIA flights and detention centres
