The company has published its financial results for fiscal year 2019, which ended March 31, and as part of that data has revealed new sales figures for its major games.
Most surprisingly, the latest Animal Crossing delivery sold 11.7 million units in its first 11 days on sale, which means that about one million units were sold per day. The figure has grown to 13.41 million units sold to consumers in the first six weeks of sale.
That makes New Horizons the best launch in Switch’s history, surpassing that of Pokémon Sword and Shield with 12.9 million units achieved in the first nine weeks. It is currently the seventh best-selling game on Nintendo’s console with only two months on sale, although if it continues to do so it could far surpass that feat.
