The end of the year arrives and, as always, from the SEO professionals we try to identify the trends that are going to develop or strengthen in the next 12 months.

Despite the upheaval of 2020, the truth is that the Internet and SEO positioning have continued to evolve, taking into account health news, but without giving up one iota of their technological development.

In this post we review some of the most disruptive trends that are expected to become even more important in 2021. They are not all the ones you should attend to, since many others that have been coming for years will also have their own leading role. But these, of course, at least deserve your interest.

1.- Extra long content will be better positioned

We are entering a dangerous loop. Extensive content has been taking priority for years. First it was the 500-word articles, then the optimal recommendation was extended to 1,000 words, and by 2020 the 2,000-word articles have become notorious.

According to some industry gurus, by 2021 articles of up to 3,000 words will be better indexed. It is true that they allow for a much more worked-out global optimization, but it also represents a challenge for writers and SEO professionals.

2.- Mobile SEO will take priority

It is believed that in 2025 the majority of Internet use will be achieved by cell phones, with ratios reaching up to 75% of users. We are not in this situation yet, but we have less and less left.

Google announced some time ago that they are going to prioritize optimized content for mobiles in mobile searches this new year. Something logical that, however, is not so easy to develop properly.

Therefore, it is recommended that resources are invested in this adaptation and/or generation of new developments specifically thinking about the mobile environment.

Understanding the user will be key; that does not change and will never change

Semantic search, predictive search or artificial intelligence are already concepts that are more familiar to us, although they still need to be better developed for us to make the best use of them.

In 2021 we are going to see a boom in this type of elements in relation to SEO positioning. Don’t be left behind and invest in the knowledge and development of this type of search. It is time to understand better than ever what the user is looking for.
