The New York Times also wants its share of the pie and has announced the purchase of Wordle, a word game available on the web that has gone viral in recent weeks. The price of the transaction has not been disclosed, but the same newspaper claims that they have paid an amount just over seven figures.
For those who have been living in a cave for the last few weeks, Wordle is a word game in which every day you have to guess a word in six attempts. For now the English version of the game will remain free, but The New York Times recalls that games are a part of their strategy to attract subscribers, so it probably won’t be long before they make it one of their paid pastimes.
