Mobile gaming made billions worldwide in the first half of 2022

For the six months so far in 2022, consumer spending in the mobile gaming market is up to $41.2 billion, according to Sensor Tower. Despite these incredible figures, this number represents a 6.6% decrease compared to the same period in 2021.

Google Play took in a significant sum of money, as it brought in $15.6 billion, a figure that is down 15% from last year. The games that earned the most are owned by Tencent. Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile have earned 1.4 billion and 1.1 billion respectively.

Other famous games that have also grossed a lot of money is Genshin Impact reaching 986 million. Candy Crush and Roblox have earned during these 6 months more than 550 million each. Even so, although these numbers are surprising, they are a decrease compared to last year, what have increased are the downloads of games on both iOS and Android reaching 28.1 billion, which is 0.4% more.

In recent years we are seeing how the mobile market has become a great opportunity for profitability for many developers. Without going any further, this week a new title of The Division saga has been presented for the mobile market. In addition, Stumble Guys, an imitation of Fall Guys, is sweeping downloads reaching more than 18 million players simultaneously.
