Hyundai Motors, a well-known automaker, has presence all over the important auto markets across the globe. In India, the company operates through its wholly owned subsidiary Hyundai Motors India Pvt. Ltd. Hyundai has had a successful career in India as it is now the second largest carmaker here. It is also the largest exporter of cars in India. Some of the best selling cars from Hyundai are Santro, Eon, i10 series, i20 series, Verna and the Xcent among others. A few cars like Santa Fe and Getz did not get the good response that the other cars got in India.
Now, Hyundai is all set to launch a crossover named Hyundai Creta. The car lovers in India have eagerly awaited this car. Already launched at a few global markets, the Creta is known as ix25 in some markets. It is expected that Hyundai will launch the Creta in the month of July 2015. Here is a closer look at the car before it hits the roads next month.
Price – Hyundai is expected to price Creta somewhere between eight to ten lakh rupees. That would make the car affordable for the majority of buyers in the segment. In addition, it will mean that Creta will take on the likes of Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport on the price factor itself.
Design and Style – Like all the latest cars from Hyundai, Creta will also be adorned in the global Fluidic Design philosophy of the company. This design is sure to give the car an elegant look. If Hyundai Elite i20 is something to go by, then the Creta will also have a definite European feel to it.
Exterior – The front fascia of the car will consist of slat matte grille flanked by LED daytime running lamps. The front bumper, combined with a broader air dam and an integrated pair of fog lamps will be adding to the appeal of the car. A silver skid plate will feature above the air dam. Sporty and curvy enough the car comes with an appealing exterior thanks to the stylish diamond-cut alloy wheels.
Interiors – The interior of Creta will be feature laden. One can expect some state of the art features like automatic air conditioning, LCD screen multimedia system, leather wrapped multi-functional three-spoke steering wheel, and leather wrapped gear-knob and the like inside the spacious cabin.
Engine – Creta will be offered in both petrol and diesel trims. There will be two different petrol engines – 1.6-litre 4-cylinder engine for the base and mid variants and 2.0-litre unit for top-end trim. The diesel variants will have a 1.6-liter engine, which is used in the Verna currently.
Once launched, Hyundai Creta will heat up the competition in the compact SUV segment.
