Honda, the well known Japanese carmaker, has a strong presence in the Indian passenger car market. Honda cars like City, Amaze, Brio, CRV and Mobilio have been well received by the Indian car lovers. However, one car did not find favor among buyers in the past. The premium hatchback from Honda, Jazz, did very poorly in the Indian market. Eventually, the carmaker withdrew the car from the Indian market due to poor sales.
Upon analysis, it was found that the car failed to do well not because it was an inferior product, but because of poor pricing and bad positioning. As Honda realized the fact, the company decided to bring back the car after addressing the problems faced during the first outing. Accordingly, the second innings of the Jazz is scheduled to start on July 8, 2015. The makers are confident that they have a sure shot winner this time.
Price – last time, it was the poor pricing that did much damage to the prospects of the Jazz. This time, Honda has carefully priced it. Although the exact pricing is not yet known, industry rumors put it between 4.5 to 7.1 lakh rupees. This is considered as a competitive price for a car of this nature and stature. It is expected that the affordable pricing will attract more buyers to it.
The major reason why Honda could bring down the price of Honda Jazz is localization. According to reports, localization accounted for around 90% of the car’s making. This has helped in bringing down the costs drastically, which in turn enabled the company to pass on the benefit to the buyers.
The New Jazz will be offered in both diesel as well as petrol versions. Built on a new platform, this hawk-eyed beauty from Honda will attract the buyers with its good looks, spacious interiors, feature loaded interiors and the i-VTEC and i-DTEC engines, which will be offered in both manual as well as automatic transmissions.
So, what makes this new car different from the earlier version?
For starters, the price is more affordable than before. In addition, Honda has made the new Jazz in such a way that it will be more spacious and comfortable than the first gen. However, the saloon like feel of the car is expected to be carried over to this edition too.
The car will carry attractive exteriors which includes, but would not be limited to a typical Honda style pushed back sharp headlamps and the familiar grille with the H marquee. Body colored bumpers, wheel arches, body colored door handles and the external rear view mirrors fitted with the side blinkers are some of the other attractive features.
