If you don’t relish in the idea of waking up and going to your job every morning, maybe you just aren’t in the right line of work. Many believe that your sun sign plays a huge role in your career path and fulfillment in life. “Many high school students take an aptitude test to guide them on a path that they would enjoy. Astrology works the same way — it’s like a blueprint of your personality,” says Katherine Metcalf, a professional astrologer from Phoenix, Arizona.

Here are some careers that are best suited for each element.

Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Fire signs are known for their quick wit, competitive edge, and tendency towards boredom if not challenged regularly. In addition, physicality is crucial. A job with movement keeps these star signs enthusiastic about the task at hand. It goes without saying that these are not the best signs for sitting in a cubicle all day punching numbers. Hard work and a position of leadership are crucial to keeping these fiery signs on their toes. Fire signs can tend to lose their temper, however, so remember to choose a line of work that won’t fire up your lack of patience. Some ideal jobs for Fire would be entertainer, activist, explorer, motivational speaker, or professional athlete.

Earth: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn.

Earth signs are very practical and task oriented, making them an excellent candidate for completing projects and deadlines. Sometimes these Earth creatures can tend to become workaholics, and need to maintain a balance between personal and professional life. Their stubbornness makes them an excellent leader, whether in politics or education. Other ideal lines of work for Earth signs include real estate broker, lawyer, insurance salesman, analyst, accountant, coder, or anything data related.

Air: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius.

Air signs are known for having a certain clarity in life that their zodiac siblings can’t quite compare to. As visionaries and natural commentators, air signs are great candidates for making speeches. They can tend to be withdrawn however so Air signs may want to look into some sort of training for their line of work if it requires communicating with others. Ntando, a student at Park West Gallery says of his fine art auctioneer training, “It helps develop your persona and outlook on life. Recommended for anyone who wants to upgrade their personality.”

Water: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.

Water signs are known for being intuitive and sensitive, making these zodiac signs excellent psychologists and therapists. The flip side to these incredibly sensitive star signs is that they can be very moody. They should be careful to avoid careers which could ignite their temper or passion. For example, a water sign would probably not make a very good prosecuting attorney. They may risk losing professionalism in a heated debate. Because of their exceptional compassion water signs are ideal for humanitarians, religious leaders, nurses or foster care providers.
