A Game of Thrones: The Board Game – Digital Edition is the title that will adapt the popular board game Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice saga, to the video game environment. The project comes from the development studio Dire Wolf and Asmodee Digital, and is preparing to debut on PC in the third quarter of 2020, with no specific date confirmed yet.
Dire Wolf will make the PC version as faithful as possible to the board game. This means that the same mechanics will be maintained, but making the menus, animations and maps show up before us in the same way that a video game would. A similar project is The Witcher Adventure Game, which also has a digital version.
At the moment, there are no details about the exact content of this digital version: A Game of Thrones: The Board Game – Digital Edition may include only the base game, discarding the multiple expansions it has received over the years. However, we imagine that it will only be a matter of time before this extra content arrives later in the form of a DLC. Designed by Christian T. Petersen, the game will give us the opportunity to win the Iron Throne.
