The first trailer for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is already one of the most watched trailers in history and has ranked as the 4th most watched trailer in a 24-hour period, just behind other Marvel productions
Thor: Love and Thunder, the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is just months away from its official release. Now, with its newly released trailer, the movie is giving us the first glimpses of the new version of Thor; and it promises to be so interesting that it has managed to accumulate 209 million views in its first 24 hours.
This impressive number has catapulted the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer as the fourth most viewed trailer in the history of the Internet in a 24-hour period. Ahead of it are three other titles that were quite popular at the time; Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The latter holds the first place.
If we go by the numbers accumulated in the trailer, and by the success that the other three productions on the podium have had, Thor: Love and Thunder could become a real box office phenomenon during its release. Of course, it’s not a sure thing, but it looks like Marvel has found its next golden goose.
The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer was released earlier this week. In it, we can see some of the main characters that will participate in the production, as well as the strange situations in which we will find them. Thor, the iconic god of thunder, joins the Guardians of the Galaxy on a mission to find his place in the world after the fall of Asgard.
It’s barely a day into its release, and fans around the world have already begun dissecting the trailer. In fact, there seems to be a character that has been deleted from the video in one of the shots where we observe Thor and Korg.
Among the options that fans of the franchise are considering is Jane Foster. It is a fact that Natalie Portman will appear in Love and Thunder, as the actress already has a presence at the end of the teaser dressed as Mighty Thor, so perhaps she was eliminated from the scene to add a surprise factor.
Of course, Portman is not the only option. Beta Ray Bill, an extraterrestrial warrior who is able to lift Thor’s Mjölnir, is another candidate to be this mysterious character. On the other hand, some fans conclude that it could be Hercules himself; a theory that makes more sense since in the trailer we can see Zeus being played by Russell Crowe.
As happened with the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, we will have to wait until the official release of the movie to find out all the surprises. Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on July 8th of this year; so we are only months away from living the new adventure of our favorite god.
