More Marvel superhero movie releases in theaters in 2023 than ever before

For some time now there hasn’t been a single year in which we haven’t had some superhero movie in theaters, led primarily by Marvel and DC.

For a long time it has been Marvel’s films that have been dominating Hollywood production, both Marvel Studios’ feature films and the productions made by Sony Pictures (in addition to the films made by Fox before the purchase of Disney, of course).

So much so that 2023 will break a record as the year in which the largest number of Marvel superhero films will be released in theaters.

Four of these new releases will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where we will have The Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 and a film whose title has not yet been revealed, although many suspect it could be the reboot of Blade with Mahershala Ali or Deadpool 3 with the addition of Ryan Reynolds to the UCM.

Alongside this, Sony Pictures will be releasing three new Marvel movies. On one side are Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web, films belonging to Sony Pictures’ Marvel Character Universe that are set in the same universe as Venom and Morbius.

On the other hand we will have Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the long-awaited sequel to the animated film Spider-Man: A New Universe that was originally scheduled for this year and that the studio has finally delayed to 2023.

Therefore, there will be seven Marvel superhero films to be released throughout 2023, making it the year with the most Marvel releases of all.
