U.S. buys all of the world’s stock of Remdesivir, one of the effective drugs against coronavirus

The United States has purchased virtually all of its stock over the next three months of Remdesivir, one of two drugs that work against Covid-19, leaving none for the rest of the world.

This unilateral gesture by the Trump government has alarmed experts and activists about the implications this may have, for example, for a possible coronavirus vaccine, as the US has shown that it is willing to do anything to secure its medical supplies.

This drug is manufactured by the US company Gilead and has been shown to be effective in 68% of patients. In the United States it has been used since May 1, at zero cost since the company donated the Remdesivir. As of July, it will start charging the stipulated prices, while in Europe the drug is under rapid review awaiting approval, but the European Medicines Agency has already recommended its marketing since last week.

  1. This is yet another example of the cruelty inflicted by Trump on the entire world. I’m going to put my pajamas on, crawl into bed with my sweet Gary, close my eyes and wait for 2020 to be over. 2021 has to be better.

  2. In ALL countries of the world the export of mechanical ventilators for coronavirus patients has been blocked until national needs have been met.
It’s not Trump (which I don’t like either), it’s a decision that all countries make in defense of their citizens as soon as they can.

As for the fact that 2020 is proving to be a very bad year, wait until 2021, when the economic consequences of this disaster come to light.

    Interesting times are coming.
