Scientists involved in the University of Oxford’s coronavirus vaccine have demonstrated the vaccine’s immune response in early trials so it will enter phase 3.

One of the scientists developing the coronavirus vaccine at Oxford University has said the team has seen the right types of immune response, so the vaccine has entered the third clinical phase.

Sarah Gilbert, a professor of vaccinology at the university, said the trial has enrolled 8,000 volunteers for Phase 3. She acknowledges that she cannot yet give a timeline of when the vaccine might be ready, since it depends on the results of the trial.
