The United States continues to bear the brunt of the coronavirus pandemic. On Wednesday, it surpassed 150,000 deaths from the virus and reached more than four million infections. They also report that in the last few hours, one person has died every minute from the coronavirus.
The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington estimates that the United States will reach the month of October with some 200,000 deaths and for the presidential elections of November 3 it could be close to 220,000.
Worldwide, more than 665,000 people have died and infections are close to 17 million.
China has again recorded more than 100 positive coronavirus in 24 hours, the worst figure in three months. The virus is spreading mainly in the northwest of the country despite the efforts of the government and most of the infections are local.
To date, 786,957 close contacts of those infected have been monitored, of which 18,353 remain under observation and two of them are suspected of having been infected with the virus.
With regard to asymptomatic persons, China recorded 21 new cases in this last report, leaving a total of 280 persons in such circumstances under observation.
