The Paris police have had to evacuate the Eiffel Tower in the French city because of a bomb threat, according to several witnesses on French social networks and media, on Wednesday after a call warning of the event.
The French police are evacuating the area and conducting a perimeter to investigate whether the bomb threat on the Eiffel Tower is true. The agents are diverting traffic on Quai Branly.
Authorities have not confirmed that it is a bomb threat, although the French media confirm it.
France has been one of the major Western countries hit hardest by Islamist terrorism in recent years. Like the one experienced in Charlie Hebdo’s newsroom in January 2017, where 12 people died in Paris. A few weeks ago, the trial against the authors of the attack began.
