The pandemic of the new coronavirus originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan has left 15,150 new cases and 232 dead in Russia in the last 24 hours, breaking the record of infections in one day, according to the Russian center responsible for the fight against the virus.
“In the last 24 hours in Russia, 15,150 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in 85 regions, including 4,031 asymptomatic ones,” explained the agency, in a statement collected by the Russian news agency Sputnik.
With the new data, the balance of the pandemic in Russian territory this Friday amounts to 1,369,313 people infected, which represents an increase of 1.1 percent over the previous day, and 23,723 deaths.
Most of the new infections have been detected in Moscow, with 5,049 cases, in addition to the 448 recorded in the Russian capital region. As for recoveries, a total of 1,056,582 people in Russia have managed to overcome COVID-19, a respiratory disease generated by the coronavirus, including 8,485 people who have been discharged from hospital on the last day.
