Joe Biden is now officially the 46th president of the United States. The Democrat has arrived at the White House with force and on the same day of the inauguration, Biden has signed 15 decrees to reverse Donald Trump’s policies.

Joe Biden has set as his goal the unity of his compatriots but it will not be easy for him. The United States returns to the Paris climate agreement, Biden reverses the country’s exit from the WHO and from now on masks will be mandatory inside federal buildings, among other things.

Another of his first gestures after taking office in the United States has been to redecorate the Oval Office of the White House and has placed in a prominent place, together with the photos of his family, the bust of the Hispanic union leader César Chávez.

Joe Biden has signed on his first day as president of the United States an executive order to safeguard the DACA program, which protects from deportation some 650,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children, known as “dreamers”.

Another of the decrees that Joe Biden was in a hurry to sign has been the one ordering to stop the construction of the border wall with Mexico, by ending the national emergency decreed by his predecessor, Donald Trump, to divert funds to that project.

The US president has signed an executive order overriding the immigration veto imposed by Donald Trump, on travelers from 11 Muslim-majority countries: Eritrea, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Myanmar, Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania and Yemen, and includes restrictions for Venezuela and North Korea.

Biden signed executive orders to return the US to the Paris Agreement against climate change and avoid its exit from the World Health Organization , in what amounts to the reversal of two of his predecessor’s most controversial measures.
