The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Saturday reported nearly 22,000 new cases of coronavirus, which means that weekly coronavirus cases in the country have been cut in half during the month of May.
In the United States, coronavirus infections are at the lowest levels since June 2020 and deaths from the disease are on a downward trend, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University and Bloomberg.
Regarding the status of the vaccination schedule, 167,157,043 people over the age of 18 have already received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, accounting for half of Americans of these ages. In total, 293,258,812 doses of the drug have been administered.
The United States has accumulated a total of 33,249,494 cases and 594,268 cases since the start of the pandemic.
