In the United States, wildfires in the state of Colorado have devastated hundreds of homes and forced massive evacuations.

Thousands of people were alerted to evacuate to flee the fire, which is believed to have been caused by downed power poles collapsed by high winds.

More than 500 homes have been razed by the fire in an area of about 6 km in Boulder County, where authorities are warning of danger as the flames advance towards inhabited and commercial areas on the outskirts of Denver, capital of the state of Colorado.

This fire is one of several that started on Thursday and spread rapidly due to strong winds with gusts of up to 170 kilometers per hour, which has hampered the efforts of rescue and firefighting teams.
