(To be confirmed) Russian Navy ship Vsevolod Bobrov burns near Snake Island
Ukraine claims to have damaged a Russian navy logistics ship near Snake Island, a small but strategic outpost in the Black Sea.
Renewed fighting in this maritime enclave may turn into a battle for control of the western Black Sea coast. “Thanks to the actions of our Marines, the support ship Vsevolod Bobrov caught fire, it is one of the newest in the Russian fleet,” said Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesman for the Odessa regional military administration.
Satellite images provided by Maxar, a U.S.-based private company, showed the aftermath of probable missile attacks on a Russian Serna-class landing craft near the island on Ukraine’s maritime border with Romania.

Meanwhile, on Snake Island there is movement. The Russian Navy has brought in a ship that has a huge crane. They are going to try to remove the launch that sank the Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 drone days ago (red arrow).
Although in front of the ramp there is a new landing craft that has managed to dock and has been bringing equipment to the island, no doubt the sunken vessel is a problem.
It is in Russia’s interest to keep the darned island, that much is clear, because it has again been carrying more defensive equipment. The problem is that it is very close to the Ukrainian coast and can be attacked, as has already been demonstrated.
This photo shows the helicopter destroyed by the Ukrainian UCAV TB2 (red arrow) and also the buildings destroyed (blue arrows) by that bombing by two Ukrainian Air Force planes.
Surely if the Russians do not show the remains of the helicopter it is because it is their own.
