While Boris Johnson’s parties in the United Kingdom were his political tomb, there are leaders who have not taken note of it and could be doomed to a similar outcome. This is what has happened in Finland with its Prime Minister, Sanna Marin, leader of the Finnish Social Democrats and the highest authority in the country’s Executive, after a video of her was released in which she is seen dancing intensely, in the company of other members of her party.

The controversy has erupted after the video has gone viral in all social networks, being able to see in it how the Prime Minister seemed to be slightly unstable while dancing. She herself has admitted that she drank alcohol during the party, which has not been to the liking of the public, let alone the opposition, which has demanded that she take a drug test to find out if she also ingested other substances during the party.

The reason why Marin is required to take such a test is because in the video the word “flour” is heard, which is mentioned by some of the people present there. That term is often related to cocaine, a fact that has caused this political crisis for the prime minister. However, she assures that she has done “nothing illegal” and says she has no problem in taking the drug test requested by the opposition.

The Finnish Prime Minister wanted to respond to the criticism, saying she was “disappointed” after the video of a private party came to light. As she pointed out, “they are private videos and are not intended for the public”, adding that she has “a family life, a work life and free time”, so she does not consider it appropriate that images of her dancing while drinking with her friends have been published.

Finland is currently going through an unstable political situation, marked by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Finns have a land border with Russia and fear that Putin might be tempted to emulate Stalin in World War II and invade part of their territory, just as he has done with the Ukrainians. For this reason, Finland, together with Sweden, has applied to join NATO soon, in order to ensure greater security.
