Donald Trump took secret documents containing nuclear information from a foreign country out of the White House

FBI agents searching the Mar-a-Lago, Florida, mansion of former U.S. President Donald Trump found a document detailing the military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, of a foreign government. The sources did not identify the foreign government in question, did not say where the document was found at Mar-a-Lago or offer additional details about one of the national security investigations.

The document detailing that information was found during federal agents’ Aug. 8 search of Trump’s residence. Some of the seized files detail operations that are classified as top secret and are so closely guarded that even many senior national security officials do not have access to them. Specifically, only the president, certain members of his Cabinet or a close Cabinet official could authorize other officials to know details of these special access programs.

Those records are almost always kept in a secure compartmented information facility, with a designated control officer carefully monitoring their location, according to ‘The Washington Post’.

Legal pressure tightens the noose around the former president. The Justice Department contends that these documents were “likely concealed” to obstruct an FBI investigation into Donald Trump’s possible mishandling of classified materials.

The 15 boxes seized from the former president’s home were found to contain 184 documents marked confidential, secret or top secret. After receiving direction from the FBI, Trump’s attorney turned over an additional 38 classified documents and provided an affidavit that they were the last files. Despite this, the FBI discovered “multiple sources of evidence” evidencing that the classified documents remained at Mar-a-Lago, the former president’s Florida residence.

After this information was made public, Trump responded on social media, “The nuclear weapons issue is a hoax, just like Russia, Russia, Russia was a hoax, the two impeachments were a hoax, the Mueller investigation was a hoax and much more. Same sleazy people involved,” he wrote, and then slipped in that FBI agents may have left evidence against him in the course of the search of his home
