Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will be launched on PC on October 15th 2020 in Spain and the rest of the world. The news comes from the opening ceremony of the Gamescom 2020, the Opening Night Live, where Xbox Game Studios has broadcast a trailer of the video game where it details its news, content and remastered elements.
Among the unpublished contents are two new civilizations, the Inca and the Swedish, both with their units and characteristic buildings. To it it is necessary to add two new game modes: the Historical Battles and The Art of the War, challenging missions that promise to put on approval the skill of the player. All the expansions are included, in total, 14 civilizations.
This definitive edition will have remastered graphics in both the gameplay and in the movie scenes, something that can be seen especially in the lighting effects, shadows and general sharpness; it can be played at 4K resolution. The sound effects have also been retouched and the soundtrack has been completely remastered.
The title will be available for purchase through the Microsoft Windows 10 Store and Steam at a price of $19.99 (those with Steam Age of Empires III: Complete Collection can purchase it for $14.99). It will also be available from day one on the Xbox Game Pass for PC, where it can be pre-installed. There will be cross-game between all platforms.
Age of Empires III was published on October 18, 2005, so the premiere of this remastered edition will be just three days before the celebration of the video game’s 15th anniversary.
