Only a few days have passed since Cyberpunk 2077 was launched and what is becoming clear to the whole community is that its performance is far from being the desired one. These problems are especially serious in the versions of both PS4 and Xbox One, which has led to an infinite number of memes and assemblies by players.
Now, CD Projekt RED has just made a statement through its Twitter account in which it regrets what has happened during all these days. “First of all, we would like to start by apologizing to you for not showing the game on the latest generation of consoles before its premiere and, consequently, not allowing you to make the decision with all the information before the purchase”.
After this initial recognition of their failures, they promise that “we will fix errors and crashing, as well as improve the overall experience”. To this end, the Polish studio has created an action plan with a series of patches for Xbox One and PS4.
The first major update for these versions will arrive in January, while the second will be ready in February. They claim that both “should solve the most serious problems that users of the previous generation are facing”. In addition, several updates will be arriving during this time, although “they will not achieve the performance of a high-end PC or a next-generation console, but will come closer to that experience than it is now”.
The measures do not end here. Following reports that several users have been able to get their money back for the work, CD Projekt RED confirms this possibility. “We always like everyone who buys our games to be satisfied with their purchases (…) but if you are not happy with the title on your console or don’t want to wait for updates, you can ask for a refund”.
If you are one of those users who will take this step, the developer indicates that it is preferable that if you have a digital copy, “use the PSN or Xbox return system”. On the contrary, if you have a physical unit “try to return it to the store where you bought it”, although they enable the email firstname.lastname@example.org in case the process is not possible.
The truth is that the arrival of Cyberpunk 2077 has led to all sorts of debates and records around it. It has reached eight million bookings before its arrival and has broken the record for most simultaneous players on Steam. As if that wasn’t enough, the title has been profitable since day one, even if its shares fell in the process.
