An app like Instagram is known for consuming a large amount of mobile data. The large amount of photos and videos that are viewed on it cause that consumption to increase. Luckily, we have the possibility to use the data saving mode on the social network.

The use of data saving on the social network allows the amount of mobile data it normally consumes to be reduced. This is achieved by making the photos that other accounts upload to the app take longer to load, that is, they will take a little longer to display when we want to see them. Videos and stories will also suffer the same fate.

This reduction in loading time is not excessive, but enough to reduce data consumption in the application. If you want to activate it in your account in the app, these are the steps to follow:

  6. Go to Mobile data usage.
  7. Activate data saving.

With these steps the Instagram data saving mode is already running on your account. The operation of the application will not be affected, you can continue using it in the same way you have done so far, only that the photos you see will load a little slower than they did so far.

In addition, if you want to save even more, you can activate the option at the end that makes those high-resolution multimedia files play only with WiFi. This will make the quality of the photos somewhat lower when using mobile data, also reducing the consumption generated by the application on Android.
