Interesting news that Acer, the technology brand, is offering us with different products that will arrive in its catalog next July. The most striking are the new notebook models, among which we find the Predator Triton 500 SE and the Predator Helios 500, which will feature 11th generation processors and GPUs corresponding to the RTX 30 Series.
Obviously, we are talking about devices that, although they can serve perfectly well as a workstation, are focused on providing a high-level gaming experience.
Predator Triton 500 SE
For example, in the case of the Predator Triton 500 SE we have an 11th generation Intel Core i9-11900H with frequencies of up to 5.0 GHz (launched this year) and that has in its guts an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 with 64GB of DDR4 memory.
With all this on the table, we will be able to play titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 or Cyberpunk 2077 above 100FPS without any problem. What’s more, it has a 16-inch screen, 3 ms response time and 240 Hz for constant fluidity. Battery life is no problem either, as it will last 12 hours and its 19.9 mm thickness makes it easy to carry around.
Regarding storage, up to 4 TB of high-speed PCIe Gen4 storage. So you can cram in games the size of Call of Duty: Warzone or Days Gone by the bucketload until you run out of space.
Beyond the classic RGB colors to look portable, the Triton 500 SE makes use of Vortex Flow. This is an Acer technology that allows for cooling through three fans, which includes intake and exhaust vents to allow for constant airflow.
Wifi 6 (improving speeds), Ethernet controller, USB 3.2 ports and SD card reader for a laptop that features Windows 10 Home and starts at $1,999.
Predator Helios 500
If the previous model falls short of your taste, you can take a look at the Predator Helios 500. What will you find inside? An Intel Core i9-11980HK CPU, also 11th generation, with the possibility of overclocking and increasing its performance. Regarding the graphics we are not short either: Nvdia GeForce RTX 3080 and 64 GB of DDR4 memory.
You’ll be able to play Doom Eternal and Horizon Zero Dawn at high frame rates on the highest settings. What’s more, you’ll have a rig ready to withstand the demands of the next few years without any problems. In addition, its dual storage allows for a pair of NVMe SSD and HDD hard drive.
Obviously to enjoy titles at high quality it has 17.3 inches of screen, with 4K Mini LED resolution at 120 Hz, although you can opt for the one that offers 360 Hz with 3 ms response.
To withstand the more than predictable marathon sessions, the Predator Helios 500 will make use of its other Acer PowerGem cooling technology, based on a metal alloy polymer that distributes heat throughout the notebook. Assisting in the process will be two fifth-generation AeroBlade fans.
Once again there will be RGB lighting and the WASD keys, in particular, are fitted with MagTek mechanical switches. This means bringing the sensitivity of a keyboard closer to what the jostycks of a controller can offer. WiFi 6 will still be with us, along with optional 5G Ethernet, betting on the future of connections. HDMI 2.1, two USB Type C and three USB 3.2 ports, which will be available starting at $2,499.
