This microSD card from Micron allows you to have 1.5 TB of capacity at your fingertips
Memory chip maker Micron announced a microSD card with no less than 1.5TB of capacity during Embedded World 2022. For now, as far as anyone knows, the Micron i400 is the highest capacity microSD card seen to date, and is designed for industrial-grade video security applications, as they promise it will be able to hold four months of continuous security camera recordings.
While the 1.5TB capacity stands out, this industrial-grade microSD memory card will also be available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacity variants, all promising at least 5 years of 24/7 operation before presenting a performance problem, not to mention being resistant to water, shock, X-ray, magnetism or impact. With this card, capacity problems with your Steam Deck will be a thing of the past.
Micron’s microSD card is specifically designed to handle continuous recording of high quality video and multiple IoT capture events simultaneously.
Adopting storage at the edge via the microSD card can improve video security system performance by enabling flexibility and scalability, and reducing network bandwidth requirements and lowering the overall cost of installation.
