An American family has denounced having been expelled from a United Airlines flight from Denver to New Jersey (USA) because their two year old daughter refused to wear a mask to protect against Covid-19.
It was the mother of the little girl, 26-year-old Eliz Orban, who shared a video on her social networks showing the sequence of events. The woman appears crying and called the experience “traumatizing” and “very humiliating” on the Fox News network.
“We got kicked off a flight because our 2-year-old daughter didn’t wear her mask. And the company has banned us forever because a two-year-old didn’t wear a mask,” she said.
The video shows the flight crew calling the family to put a mask on the little girl, who resists and starts crying. At that moment, one of the crew members tells the girl’s father: “I’m going to have to ask you to take your belongings and leave the plane”.
The family has alleged that the World Health Organization (WHO) establishes that “the use of a mask should not be obligatory for children up to five years old” and has assured that they have flown previously and on several occasions with their little girl and that they have never had this problem.
Today we got kicked off of a United flight going from Denver to Newark because our 2yo would not “comply” and keep her mask on. Go see the full IGTV on my Instagram @elizfulop 😷 pic.twitter.com/KXCICsBSMj
